A new generation of adventurers who don't want to give up their jobs for travel has emerged thanks to the proliferation of remote employment. You have come to the correct spot if you have ever fantasized of working from a beachside cafe in Bali, a picturesque European village, or in the middle of a bustling metropolis. In this article, we will explore the fascinating realm of remote work while traveling, offering helpful hints and advice to help you start your own adventure of work and travel. Whatever your level of experience is with remote work, whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, be ready for your next journey by packing your laptop and passport.
Why You Should Buy a Mobile Hotspot:
You can get uninterrupted work done with a dependable mobile hotspot because it provides a constant internet connection. It has the potential to be a lifesaver! You can't trust public Wi-Fi. Never trust the Wi-Fi at a coffee shop, Airbnb, or shared office space. When you're in a new area, you never know if the Wi-Fi will be strong enough or if there will be a lot of other people using it. Is a mobile hotspot still necessary if you already have one on your phone?
Your battery will be drained fast when you use hotspot mode.
With its dedicated hotspot, you can run all day long.
More devices can connect to a hotspot compared to the mobile hotspot on your phone, and there are usually more security settings available.
Additionally, utilizing your phone hotspot while going overseas could result in the accumulation of roaming fees.
Get a white noise machine:
A white noise machine can help drown out background noise during that late online meeting—a common occurrence when people are working in different time zones. Anyone who happens to be staying with you while you're at work will also benefit from this. People who live with you may find your noise levels to be too high. Keeping a level head during those late-night online meetings is another benefit. To see the one I used, click HERE.
Locate a Group to Join:
Find a community of other travelers who are going through the same things you are and can provide each other support. My Portuguese instructors and fellow traveling therapists were just two of the many people I met throughout my month-long stay overseas who were there to lend me a helping hand and provide words of encouragement and advice. You shouldn't go on this adventure solo, whether it's just for a month or for the rest of your life.
Be Strategic:
To find a happy medium, create a timetable that allows for both work and exploration. I gave a lot of consideration to how to maximize my month in Portugal. I would be able to help my clients the most when I could relax, go exploring, and have the greatest energy. I planned my time wisely. The top three things you should always prioritize are taking good care of yourself, working efficiently, and making the most of your experiences!
Pack your bags, set up your virtual office, & may your work-life journey be as enriching as your destination!
Safe Travels,
Pam
